Northwest Iowa Tobacco Free Coalition (NWITFC) Tobacco Use Prevention
Northwest Iowa Tobacco Free Coalition has four goals:
- Prevent tobacco use by the youth.
- Promote cessation.
- Eliminate exposure to secondhand smoke.
- Establish and maintain a tobacco control community coalition.
To promote and protect the health of Lyon, O’Brien, Osceola and Sioux County, we are committed to stop tobacco use because tobacco kills.

This link provides fact sheets for a wide variety of business and city goverment, restuarants bars, sign requirements and so on. You can also download a variety of signs that meet the requirements.
Limited Supply of Window Clings Available for your business!
The American Lung Association has made available a limited number of window clings to help with implementation of the law. These are provided free of charge. If you receive inquiries about signage, you can direct them to our website www.lungia.org to request clings. We are filling orders on the signs until we run out. Next week Chambers across the state will receive these clings in the mail to share with their members. Therefore, you may see some of these signs in your community very soon.
They are also creating and printing a card that has information about the law on one side and cessation options on the other side. Listed cessation options include Quitline Iowa, the ALA HelpLine, and Freedom from Smoking Online. Again, we have a limited number of these cards available for distribution. They can also be ordered online at www.lungia.org.
Good luck on July 1! Lets celebrate smoke-free air as a team!
